Threatened by Amazon
I already comply with every law with a disclaimer on this site and that is visible on every page. My writing is sourced repeatedly by NIH, The WHO or the CDC before it is published.
You have already been well compensated for my marketing efforts to redirect to Amazon so I expect no further dictates from you regarding my First Amendment rights.
Consumers have the right to decide their own course of action and to rely on any source for information. Your dragnet is unlawful, you can not compel speech, and I hope you get sued.
Threatened by Amazon The Letter
Effective today, Amazon is terminating your Associates account as well as the Operating Agreement that governs it, found here: <https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/operating/agreement>.
You are not in compliance with the Operating Agreement, found here: <https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/operating/agreement>, because you are displaying Special Links and Program Content on your Site in violation of the Agreement. Specifically, you are violating the FTC’s guidance on Coronavirus claims, found here [hyperlink to https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/blogs/business-blog/2020/03/ftc-fda-warn-companies-making-coronavirus-claims]. We ask all of our associates to exercise good judgement when covering COVID-19 and refer readers to the CDC website for accurate information.
You must stop using the Content and Amazon Marks and promptly remove all links to the Amazon site. [You may reapply to the Associates Program after correcting the violations.]
Because you are not in compliance with the Operating Agreement, Amazon will not pay you any outstanding advertising fees. Please be aware that any other related accounts may be closed without payment of any fees. Amazon reserves all other rights and claims.
