In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity. Charity begins with self, liberty begins with a person being responsible for their own health outcomes, and for the health of their family. Charity of mission helps researchers, and health professionals guide that process with policy to help populations achieve the safest, lowest cost, and best health outcomes.

Folklore Remedies of Yesteryear That Worked For Your Grandpa

Calling today’s non breastfed/C sections population/s the new normal, and worse healthy is fostering a short-term very profitable delusion. After the tipping point, it will bankrupt societies.

Only idiots engage in a lose/lose proposition on a scale such as this.

Living foods that have some benefit, non pasteurized vinegar is one. However, none of these popular folklore remedies beats bovine colostrum as a whole fat mammal milk living immune product. Most people with immune conditions have tried all of these home remedies, they are a good addition to help resolve some issues, if a person can keep up with doing them all at once. I haven’t found that to be the case as the more complexity one adds to a daily routine the less people are prone to stick with any of them. People prone to extremes with the accompanying brain fog are less likely to keep up with complex routines for the necessary length of time to see the end game, which is re-building the immune system by mirroring, (optimal breast feeding timeline). Yes, it literally takes over 700 days (there aren’t any shortcuts). They need a lot of daily encouragement.

The supplements you do not want to see someone discontinue are bovine colostrum, probiotics, and whole fat mammal milk until immune tolerance is fully restored and the lymphatic/detoxification system is fully able to remove waste. In addition to that is cod liver oil/oleic acid/sunshine in winter or as necessary. You have to restore gut/immune health before any food is truly as beneficial as it could be.

  • Contrary to popular belief yes, some conditions are over alkaline, MS (multiple sclerosis) is one.
  • Keto diets and high protein diets are not without risk, they produce a lot of detrimental waste products.
  • You can do little to change overall ph. Alkaline diets are a waste of time.
  • The body maintains several different levels of ph, ph in the small intestine is alkaline, achieved by bile. SIBO recipe works in the small intestine because MoM does not begin its primary action until it reaches the small intestine. SIBO recipe is not for long term use.
  • The intraluminal pH is rapidly changed from highly acid in the stomach to about pH 6 in the duodenum. The pH gradually increases in the small intestine from pH 6 to about pH 7.4 in the terminal ileum. The pH drops to 5.7 in the caecum, but again gradually increases, reaching pH 6.7 in the rectum.
  • Vinegar is very effective for PCOS.
  • Vinegar will help GERD.
  • Vinegar with the mother contains acetic acid bacteria. Acetic acid bacteria are airborne and are ubiquitous in nature. They are actively present in environments where ethanol is being formed as a result of fermentation of sugars. They can be isolated from the nectar of flowers and from damaged fruit. Sources include fresh apple cider. In these liquids, they grow as a surface film due to their aerobic nature and active motility.
  • Probiotic consumption improved the glycemic control in Type II diabetes subjects. The intake of fermented milk seems to be involved with others metabolic changes, such as decrease in inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and resistin) and increase in the acetic acid.
  • These ph problems can also begin at birth. Formula feeding. Opting for formula feeding instead of breast feeding can also disrupt normal bacterial growth in the bowel. Breast-fed babies have a normal (for babies) pH of the lower bowel of 5 to 5.5. This acidic pH is ideal for the growth of healthy gut flora. Formula-fed babies have a neutral (pH 7) or slightly alkaline bowel (pH greater than 7). The increase in formula feeding is directly responsible for the majority of colic and diarrhea complaints. Cesarean delivery. This procedure does not allow the baby to be introduced to the mother’s gut bacteria in the birth canal. In 2007, just under 32 percent of births in the United States were by Cesarean section.

Dr. Berg is adept at explaining normal bodily functions including the importance of ph while addressing common misconceptions about acidity and alkalinity, it is beneficial to the public to address those misconceptions as there are reports of ER treatments that have gone very badly for patients due to these common misconceptions. The body will do whatever is necessary to maintain this all important ph balance in the blood. I support any health professional that helps dispel harmful myths like the common practice of trying to affect overall bodily ph with very expensive alkaline water etc., when it is an almost impossible thing to achieve, as in balance.

The beauty of a healthy balanced system, it does all the chemistry for you.

I don’t really support the longterm daily use of either alkaline or acidic products like vinegar or even lemon water for that matter. People who have a difficulty maintaining homeostasis are not going to be adept at noticing any potentially critical misstep, and I would put diabetes in that category along with all metabolic syndromes. Both acidosis and over alkalinity like all critical imbalances can occur suddenly, and people don’t realize what is happening until it is too late. Even excess H2S can cause some very bad sudden reactions. After all this is bodily chemistry, and some sick people have to be very careful. Usually they are not, the usual approach is, well if a little is good, a lot must be better.

The opposite is actually true in already overwhelmed bodily capacity system/s.

The benchmark foundation for a healthy start, and lifetime is the optimally breast fed, non C section, properly weaned child.

Your grandpa or grandma who got the right foundation is not going to be prone to that lack of ability so many of these folk remedies have to be taken with a grain of salt as long as the public keeps ignoring that critical foundation.

You don’t discount your scientific control population, and today the scientific control/s are the populations who didn’t get the right foundation, not the ones who did. Not my problem people have a tendency to ignore vital statistics.

Calling today’s non breastfed/C sections population/s the new normal, and worse healthy is fostering a short-term very profitable delusion. After the tipping point, it will bankrupt societies.

Only idiots engage in a lose/lose proposition on a scale such as this. It doesn’t profit anyone to ignore the real state of the balance sheet.

These multi level marketing people making a lot of money presenting 20% truths with 80% falsehoods.

People also overuse antacids and other similar supplements, making their gut health much worse.

Until he and the general public gets on the same page, it is all fluff trying to close the barn door after the horse is already long gone, however beneficial vinegar may be its main attributes are probably in fostering gut health, it is not close to colostrum and later lactation mammal milk as critical living immune products.

  1. Breastfeeding
  2. Food quality
  3. Water security

Breastfeeding, food and water security are major protective factors against malnutrition and critical factors in the maturation of healthy gut microbiota, characterized by a transient bifidobacterial bloom before a global rise in anaerobes. Early depletion in gut Bifidobacterium longum, a typical maternal probiotic, known to inhibit pathogens, represents the first step in gut microbiota alteration associated with severe acute malnutrition (SAM). Later, the absence of the Healthy Mature Anaerobic Gut Microbiota (HMAGM) leads to deficient energy harvest, vitamin biosynthesis and immune protection, and is associated with diarrhea, malabsorption and systemic invasion by microbial pathogens. A therapeutic diet and infection treatment may be unable to restore bifidobacteria and HMAGM. Non-toxic missing microbes and nutrients necessary to restore bifidobacteria and HMAGM, including prebiotics and antioxidants, are warranted.

Ph in conclusion

So while unpasteurized vinegar does have benefit, so does baking soda for that matter, know the rest of the ph story including your own before proceeding with folklore remedies, and for goodness sake don’t try all of them at once, and cause such a chemical imbalance that you/they might not even recognize or know how to correct before it is too late. A urine strip is not going to tell you. Some people are better served just sticking with safe, daily sour yogurt, kefir or buttermilk to achieve the same end.

Daily Reflection:

Don’t think too much of worldly things, you’ll retain your peace.

A good presentation for understanding insulin resistance. Dr. Berg is adept at explaining complex conditions, and he is up to date, an insulin test is far more predictive than glucose testing and would help people recognize their danger of becoming diabetic far faster.

  • No stand alone diet will reverse SAM (severe acute malnutrition), including the diets he mentions. Poor microbiota is associated with metabolic syndromes. Cod liver oil if given in the first year of life may prevent Type 1 Diabetes.
  • Limit fat and sugar food combinations. Some immune metabolic functions require certain types of sugars.
  • Most whey protein powders are quite different from whole fat mammal milk products as they contain almost no fat, and almost all contain no lactose. Whey protein powders are refined whey products consisting almost entirely of protein. Whey protein powders can be a helpful addition for hunger if you don’t eat enough but whole fat mammal milk is clinically shown to be better for Kwashiorkor.
  • Diet should not be too high in protein but animal protein is necessary. Those with kidney and liver problems may have to restrict proteins, although clinical data is not clear on that.
  • Add Concentrace or some other mineral complex to water if necessary. Maf products commonly suggest adding minerals. Some soils are mineral deficient but that is not the cause of SAM, nor will it reverse SAM (severe acute malnutrition).
  • Skip the supplement he is selling at the end, he seems to imply insulin resistance can not be overcome without it, not so.

Daily Reflection:

It is easy enough to start again. Examine my life, face what needs to be done. Pray for strength, and start doing it.

  • Nearly all diet extremes produce amino acid imbalances. Chronic malnourishment can produce dire effects on the immune system in a very short time frame, (3 to 4 months).
  • Undernutrition results in severe impairment of the small intestinal structure and function. Re-feeding results in a rapid restoration of atrophy and enterocyte brush border functions, such as digestion or absorption. The extent of these changes on mucosa repair and brush border enzymes activities is dependent on the amount of food intake (proteins and calories), and also for the brush border enzymes, on the quantities of their specific stimulatory substrates. Various forms of whey proteins and their beneficial substrates contributed to both arms of repair, structure and enzyme function. The best results were obtained with whole proteins, their beneficial substrates and specific probiotics, following a natural digestion process in conjunction with the liver and pancreas.
  • In patients with IBD, the tolerance/immunity balance is disturbed, leading to chronic intestinal inflammation driven by reactivity to intestinal bacteria.

Those who practice prolonged fasts face the danger of re-feeding syndrome, where a potassium imbalance gets so severe upon eating again they can face a major health crisis (hyperkalemia).

  • In any immune suppressed or immature immune system (infant, child, birth control, steroids, chemo etc.) the danger of hemolytic uremic syndrome from eating raw foods (including raw milk) is real (e coli, shiga toxins, bacterial toxins).
  • Various cells from IBD patients show increased susceptibility to bacterial products, including flagellin, pili and lipopolysaccharide. Mucosa-associated adherent, invasive Escherichia coli (E. coli), which are pro-inflammatory and resistant to killing by mucosal macrophages, may be associated with the pathogenesis of CD (Crohn’s Disease). Increased gut permeability, bacterial translocation and increased lipopolysaccharide levels have been described in patients with immune-associated disorders. Intestinal barrier loss alone is insufficient to initiate disease.

Foodborne Illness Affecting The Young, Elderly And Immune Compromised

Foodborne illness is a serious health issue. Each year in the U.S., 800,000 illnesses affect children under the age of 10. Infants and young children are particularly vulnerable to foodborne illness because their immune systems are not developed enough to fight off foodborne bacterial infections.

This includes immature microbiota (non breast fed) as the gut is up to 80% of the immune system. The elderly and immune compromised are also high risk for food borne illness.

The absence of the Healthy Mature Anaerobic Gut Microbiota (HMAGM) leads to deficient energy harvest, vitamin biosynthesis and immune protection, and is associated with diarrhea, malabsorption and systemic invasion by microbial pathogens. A therapeutic diet and infection treatment may be unable to restore bifidobacteria and HMAGM.

Handwashing

Your First Step In Keeping Your Children Safe

Your hands can pick up bacteria and spread bacteria to your baby – for example, from:

  • Diapers containing feces and urine
  • Raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs
  • Pets, such as dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, birds, and lizards.
  • Soil

Washing your hands can remove harmful bacteria, so wash your hands often to help prevent foodborne illness.

Among the most dangerous are bacteria, like E. coli 0157:H7, Shigella, or Salmonella.

The most common food-borne infections are those caused by the bacteria Campylobacter, Salmonella, and E. coli 0157:H7, as well as by a group of viruses called noroviruses.

Campylobacter is the most frequently diagnosed food-borne bacterium. It’s usually transmitted through raw or undercooked poultry or unpasteurized milk, but your baby can also get it from contaminated water.

It’s also possible to contract the bacteria from the stool of a dog or cat.

Salmonella can be present in raw or undercooked eggs, poultry and meat, raw milk and dairy products, and seafood, and can be spread by food handlers. Reptiles like pet iguanas, turtles, lizards, and snakes can also carry Salmonella. In most cases, if your baby is exposed to Salmonella, he’ll develop fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. He may also have tiny pink spots on his skin.

Symptoms usually start eight to 48 hours after contact and last for a day or two, though they can persist for more than a week, and the bacteria can continue to exist in the body for months. Two-thirds of patients with Salmonella are under 20 years old. In a very young baby or a person with a compromised immune system, Salmonella can invade the bloodstream and become life threatening.

E. coli is transmitted through food or water that’s contaminated with microscopic amounts of feces.

There are a number of strains of Escherichia coli. E. coli 0157:H7 is a particular strain that causes a more severe, longer-lasting illness. In babies and young children, E. coli 0157:H7 can be life threatening and often requires hospitalization.

There have been several cases of widespread food contamination in the news recently.

Beef Recall

As the U.S. Department of Agriculture investigated an October recall on beef, officials realized some patients were falling ill from products not included in the initial recall, so they decided to expand it.

More than 12 million pounds of raw beef products distributed nationwide by the JBS Tolleson company are under recall after a Monday news release added 5.1 pounds to the standing recall.

Investigators say 246 people from 26 states became ill from what may be salmonella contamination from July 26 to Sept. 7, 2018. This is a significant increase from October, by which time officials had determined 57 people from 16 states had fallen ill.

Lettuce

Public health and regulatory officials in several states, Canada, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are investigating a multistate outbreak of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli O157:H7 (E. coli O157:H7) infections linked to romaine lettuce from the Central Coastal growing regions in northern and central California.

Bovine Colostrum and IGG binds to these types bacterial toxins. Natural oral immune therapy like Bravo Yogurt™, GcMaf and other maf products helps restore the normal microbiota to help fight food borne illnesses.

Cesarean delivery. This procedure does not allow the baby to be introduced to the mother’s gut bacteria in the birth canal. In 2007, just under 32 percent of births in the United States were by Cesarean section.

  • In any immune suppressed or immature immune system (infant, child, birth control, steroids, chemo etc.) the danger of hemolytic uremic syndrome from eating raw foods (including raw milk) is real (e coli, shiga toxins, bacterial toxins).

Are you tired of thinking about food?

Are you tired of complicated ‘diet regimens’?

Do you wish you could just stop obsessing about food?

Do you wish you could just enjoy food like a normal person?

Do you wish you could stop worrying about your weight?

Do you wish you could stop blaming food?

Do you wish to stop being identified by your diet?

Do you wish your diet didn’t have a name?

Do you wish to eat without having an affiliation to a group?

Do you wish your diet wasn’t a religion in and of itself?

Do you wish you had more control over digestive health instead of ceding control to inanimate objects like food?

Do you wish food choices weren’t controlled by the diet industry?

Do you wish politicians would stop giving diet advice?

Do you wish you could empower yourself instead of being controlled by the popular diet culture?

Do you wish food regained a proper place in your life?

Do you wish you could maintain a healthy relationship to food?

Do you wish you could stop saying food is bad or good?

Are you tired of feeling guilty or good about food instead of behavior?

Do you wish food could make you feel good again?

Do you wish you weren’t prone to being fooled by every diet fad?

Do you wish you could walk away from diet extremism?

Do you wish to have a lifestyle that is simplified and healthy?

Do you wish you could stop worrying about your health?

Do you believe actions speak louder than words?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, welcome to the most unpopular health advice in the world, it is called…. normal.

The Dawn Of The Identity Diet

I spent a lot of time in that world of crazy diets and crazy health gurus.

It wasn’t pleasant to mentally revisit that place these last couple of months, and realize that diet other world had become even more extreme, and they don’t know it yet apparently, but no stand alone diet on the planet will reverse SAM. The raw meat diet/carnivore diet should be called the roadkill, dangerous diet. The vegan/vegetarianism, fruitarianism diet should be called the starve your way to suicide diet.

The sons of anarchy stemming from their foremothers, the gluten free/casein free diet, SCD, GAPS, FODMAPS?

The mentality that all food is poison, and the result = real poison or pick your poison/avoid your poison, no matter what population you have to displace?

I get it, I’ve been there, I also overcame it, with understanding. I eventually became bubble girl, intolerant to everything. In fact, I couldn’t even be in the grocery store because the air conditioning fumes bothered me. I couldn’t walk down a city street. In fact I have been in some polluted cities where the air was so dangerous, I barely made it home, and became violently ill. I’ve been in some mold infested buildings from which, I later suffered for weeks. I’ve had toxic shock numerous times. I couldn’t take a single drug, OTC included, or take one sip of alcohol, and I could barely eat a single food.

That was the result of my extreme avoidance. I have been on nearly every single one of those diets, and then some, I followed them religiously (an all day, an all time and money consuming affair I might add), and they did nothing, except make my health/gut/liver/immune problems worse.

Food tolerance is a dysfunctional/ microbiota/gut immune based problem, not a diet problem (infant formula excluded). True genetic intolerance is rare, and should be rare, not common.

It makes one wonder, what have we spawned?

I only wanted to show the effects of malnutrition because nobody recognizes subtle manifestations of malnutrition anymore, especially multiple variations of malnutrition, so sometimes people need to see extremes, and as always, little did I know what I would actually uncover.

It was almost like signing up for another tour except this time I was in the Gulag, but I was wise enough not to venture behind the bars to engage a crowd not well fed, and speaking from experience it is better to avoid that.

I’ve never seen such horrifying experiments in bacterial fermentation, and I promise those people in no way reflect artisan food or drink fermentation techniques in history as no farmer, artisan or shopkeeper would neglect food safety, and proper sanitation techniques.

*Fertilizing crops, and landscapes with human waste/sewage excluded because it is a widespread practice in some countries (night soil), and recently popularized in the US.

It was the best demonstration ever of why I left health extremism far behind, and I don’t care to look back. I guess they never ventured a read in to Japanese science history to understand how to make a biological weapon but then again, maybe they did. I’ll assume mass ignorance but I won’t discount grave malice from either the cave man crowd, the vegan crowd or any of their diet cohort ‘isms’. If indeed it is even a true ‘diet’ or just a stunt.

SAM (severe acute malnutrition) as defined by WHO is actually a pretty good way of encapsulating the whole spectrum without chronic endless label syndrome, and without religiously hanging on to discredited theory, it virtually kills all birds with one stone, including in order of importance, and risk factor. A David slaying Goliath, if you will, with one paragraph.

SIBO experts have never endorsed diet as stand alone treatment or cause and has now advised against popular diets like FODMAPS for H2S SIBO. A new test for H2S SIBO will also be coming soon. Alternavita used to have side effects of H2S SIBO primarily, and always advocated for H2S testing which used to be available as a urine test.

I haven’t advocated the kitchen sink approach in many, many years due to the development of my own dangerous immune tolerance state and inability to tolerate the vast majority of even OTC’s.

Everyone who ever desperately hoped that GcMaf or Bravo Yogurt™ would become available in the US should be overjoyed at this current WHO position released in 2017. I might add the year that those products finally became available in the US. Anyone who followed the research of the top probiotic experts in the world should also be overjoyed as they have also repeatedly stated that no diet alone is an effective treatment in reversing SAM.

I no longer write about specific conditions and their resulting labels as that is a waste of everyone’s time when the root causes and resulting prognosis remains the same as SAM can eventually result in thousands of cross conditions. Delineating among the spectrum/s is self defeating, and costly.

The status quo of healthcare is no longer a feasible option, and the sooner whole populations realize that, the better. Some authorities had sufficient foresight, and planning in place, some didn’t.

In the end WHO deserves to lead the way because without an objective truth in plain sight the wisdom of the crowd does not exist either. This is the day some people were waiting a long time for.

The 80/20 rule, if you know how to extract that 20% of truth, and not waste a lot of effort on the hook or the worm you can actually accomplish something, like health, productivity etc.

That is not true of every publication by the way but a good rule to remember, apply, and to know when it is being used against you as you are sitting there two hours later waiting for the punchline in that health infomercial by some celebrity doctor, with celebrity included.

It is important to me that tomorrow’s kids don’t end up down the rabbit hole. There isn’t much I can do about adults, and the choices they make.

Understand the perspective of a person who very well understands that time is finite, as a person who spent way too much time bedridden. I already have the static pattern of my bedroom wallpaper burned in to my brain, and ten million health based conversations, and research papers as well. And everything that goes along with resulting ill health, like poverty and shame. I never really got the lack of empathy part, helping someone get out of bed asap is the ultimate in empathy, and if people don’t get that, they’ve never not thoroughly despised being in that situation because it is far from natural.

As a result I have two speeds, get on with it or move it out of my way.

I used to complain as a kid about having to walk in the cold and snow to school but today walking for miles or hours is a joy.

And in the deepest recesses of my heart I am quite sure those who made it possible have that understanding as well of what empathy really means because they gave their lifeblood to make it happen.

I don’t think it takes much intellect as truth becomes self evident. It is the action after the truth that makes the man.

I began to walk away many years ago now from tv, pop culture, crazy health gurus, crazy diet gurus, crazy exercise gurus, eastern religious/philosophy gurus, cultists, occultists, including cults of personality/celebrity/movements/hippie culture/counter cultureall of it but it took a long time to get myself clean.

People don’t realize how the media and music entertainment industrial complex pushes a fatalist mentality…. there is nothing you can do about anything, everything is too complicated for you, too hard for you, just sit back, relax, and let us handle it. Well it serves them well.

They don’t realize how many are walking away to clear the head and reset the compass, and that is probably what they fear the most. I can’t say I blame them, the initial result is almost always anarchy, and not reason.

The snapback to reality reflex is a painful process.

After October and November, and the extremists, I think it is time for some positive role models.

Both men and truth are surely extinct in today’s culture.

The role models we used to have are gone in both pop culture and often in the home. I have watched hours of this guy before bed, Shawn James, a freelance writer, blogger, and videographer, and a passionate outdoorsman living the life of his dreams in a log cabin that he built himself in the Canadian wilderness.

Growing up in ‘deer country’ it is reflective of my own past, the immigrants from Europe who literally built this country from coal and with steel only to find at the end of the month they owed money instead of having made money. The role models I used to know who sadly are long now dead and gone and their lifestyle nearly forgotten in favor of boys who wear makeup, lift weights or play violent video games in an attempt to recapture some sort of identity.

Men are actually easy to beat to a pulp, and I usually end up losing respect for women who do it, and enjoy doing it because they have a wild card and they know it. If it is a good man, he won’t fight back, pretty easy to win a battle that way if you care to make it one, the battle of the sexes but he also won’t let you kick him in the balls or the solar plexus, so be prepared for the knockout or walkout, when it comes, which it usually does to those types of controlling women who want to be whatever messed up image of a man they have in their head instead of respecting what each sex naturally is. I would ask them as a group, why are you becoming on the one hand, what you are acting like you hate on the other? Don’t both bring something to the table? Nothing worse than a shrill hag female dominatrix culture, everybody heads to the woods to escape their path and wrath.

It takes a stronger woman not to pulverize a man to dust.

Well some people didn’t forget, and some people want to ensure they are not buried in the garbage of modernist pop culture, and I am one of them. Not to mention it is going to be a rude awakening to some, some people had both, and still they chose to walk away from the McMansion. And what really scares the mainstream media, 72 million people would rather sit here, and watch a guy build a chair than watch anything they produce.

This isn’t nostalgia, this is reclaiming lost territory, and being willing to fight, and sacrifice for something good.

I already know it won’t sell a lot of papers, and most people’s truth is a dusty, old coffee table book. Both of us are out there in the wilderness, alone with our dog but that is ok too because both of us can sleep easy at night while being filled with the beauty of the stars and the understanding that truth alone suffices.

The Alternative Lifestyle

Lifestyle modifications that really make a difference.

Lifestyle Modification

Lifestyle modification for the rest of us…

Welcome to the December issue of Alternavita Monthly© magazine!

In this issue learn the lifestyle practices from proven science that I personally use to help me achieve long term physical health goals.

I am just like the majority. I despise diets because no human in real history dieted. They ate food and they celebrated food. They had a healthy mental perspective on all things in life. Leisure food did not exist and work was a requirement if anyone wanted to eat food. I also don’t care for expensive gym class, in lieu of physical activity that is restorative. I didn’t always practice mental balance until I had to get serious about all of it and change course toward a direction that set me on a much better path. I know my temperament, if it is not practical, I might do it but I won’t stick with it. If I don’t see real results in a short time frame I am also prone to discouragement. If it isn’t safe, and effective, I won’t touch it. If it doesn’t work within my hectic lifestyle I am also very likely to drop it, so over the years I had to adapt proven science to fit me, and that is what this issue is all about.

Thanks for reading this December issue!
