A FIRST gold standard of infant care in clinical practice has been set forth by WHO for prevention of SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition).

risk factors in the correct order:

  • the immature gut micro biome due to non breast feeding or suboptimal breast feeding (if you don’t have it (optimal gut health), you can’t give it, principle number one)
  • the food quality (from infant formula onward)(diet prevents death via starvation but does not rescue this inherent chronic malnutrition syndrome due to poor microbiome)
  • the water/environment (for diarrheal disease prevention)

For the prevention of:

  • deficient energy harvest (from food)(chronic fatigue)
  • vitamin biosynthesis (from food)(chronic vitamin deficiency)
  • immune protection (immune deficiency syndromes)
  • diarrhea (associated diarrheal conditions)
  • malabsorption (chronic malnutrition)
  • systemic invasion by microbial pathogens

Re-feeding and infection control will not resolve this severe inherent malnutrition syndrome and the micro biome must be re-established (at all costs) to ensure future health outcomes for children. Bing, bang, boom, done, that is worldwide consensus for best practice.

I was reminded of this important warning as I noticed a large canister of magnesium for STRESS RELIEF (many canisters were placed on the aisle end and those big bold letters were meant to attract a lot of people), similar to Natural Calm and which is now available at Walmart and of course it was right next to various antacids, PPI’s and laxatives containing magnesium, a product which most assume is very safe and well tolerated but may not be in certain individuals like the elderly who are often subjected to many forms of magnesium treatments concurrently (laxatives and antacids). Pregnant women may also be subjected to magnesium IV treatments for pre-eclampsia. Many people use magnesium for weight loss or bowel disorders (MagO7 for example). Magnesium is often used by consumers in many supplements but most are not aware it can have serious negative effects. And seriously these people who clean themselves out by inducing diarrhea, enemas or whatever, drive me up a wall because they are more likely seriously affecting a delicate chemical balance that must be maintained and will be maintained at all costs, including producing possible deadly outcomes. No, chronic constipation is not good, but neither is diarrhea.

I was also reminded due to the health of my dog who is aged and health declining rapidly, kidney failure, arthritis, etc. and I have to be very careful of what supplements I give him or it will produce a more rapid decline. Since I don’t want to increase his suffering I have to carefully monitor his food and supplement intake and of course it seems with every product you buy, there are multiple ingredients, offering multiple chances for adverse reactions and his supplements are no exception. He does better with far less, not much different than some of us.

A tip, if I buy supplements or take supplements at all, I take one at a time, I buy single or two or as few as possible ingredient supplements when possible, and I stop everything else so I can closely monitor my reactions and I never over-dose (this includes probiotics, in kids or those with severe immune problems (non breast fed) I do not advocate a gazillion different organisms in the beginning as you can’t assume you will be able to control them with no immune system, only off the shelf and sold as a food additive in the grocery store). I only take those that offer the highest safety and tolerability level and I stop when I no longer need them. I have all kinds of readers and I can’t assume to know your history, especially your gut history and this is how you stay safe and probiotics along with most supplements are not regulated very well.

How are you going to figure that out, especially if you do kombucha, water kefir or raw milk, chances are, you are not going to figure it out because no one knows and it is affected by locality and differs greatly from locality to locality. So don’t expect anyone else to figure those things out for you, it is impossible.

Nobody in their right mind starts an experiment by throwing in the kitchen sink. You would think this would be common sense but it is not, especially in the elderly and if you have no gut health you might as well assume you are similar to grandma because biologically speaking, you are.

Two weeks tops, you will know when something (even a food) is producing more harm than good.

Most wrongly assume a false sense of security when drugs are OTC but the direct effects can be as devastating as pharmaceuticals by prescription. There is no such thing as a side effect when it comes to any drug, these are direct effects.

Don’t assume magnesium is a safe supplement with no chance of toxic effects upon high dose or prolonged use, especially in those with gastrointestinal disorders, liver disorders or kidney disorders. There are many reports of accidental death with laxative, antacid, hospital administered magnesium IV or supplement use. Magnesium also interacts poorly with many common substances like calcium, common pharmaceuticals and OTC drugs leading to high risk for major complications in unsuspecting patients. Refined white foods like flour, rice and sugar may also interfere with proper mineral synthesis.

It can quickly bio accumulate in those with gut, kidney and metabolic disorders.

Hypermagnesemia is a serious complication of too much magnesium and often over looked by clinicians and consumers but can quickly lead to respiratory failure, heart failure, shock, coma and death. Do not take too much magnesium and never take magnesium with a kidney disorder. The elderly are often unaware of how many supplements contain magnesium. Hypo-magnesemia (low magnesium levels) are never fatal but hyper-magnesemia is often fatal. This includes all forms of magnesium.

Hypermagnesemia. Elderly over-the-counter drug users at risk.

We present a case of magnesium toxic effects that demonstrates the wide spectrum of associated clinical signs and symptoms. As shown by the case report, the literature review, and the MEDWATCH database, physicians frequently neglect to consider hypermagnesemia in the differential diagnosis of this clinical presentation. Abnormal renal function is a well-known risk factor for the development of hypermagnesemia. This case report highlights several associated nonrenal risk factors for hypermagnesemia, which include age, gastrointestinal tract disease, and administration of concomitant medications, particularly those with anticholinergic and narcotic effects. This case report also demonstrates how consumers may misuse magnesium-containing over-the-counter drug products. In addition, physicians may not inquire about and patients may not volunteer over-the-counter medications in a complete drug history. However, the morbidity associated with hypermagnesemia as well as its reversibility make it an important diagnostic consideration for elderly patients with gastrointestinal tract disease, regardless of renal function. For easy reference for both consumers and health-care personnel, we provide a list of over-the-counter drug products that contain significant amounts of magnesium.

What are some side effects that I need to call my doctor about right away?

WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:

  • Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Very upset stomach or throwing up.
  • Very loose stools (diarrhea).

What are some other side effects of this drug?

All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:

  • Loose stools (diarrhea).

These are not all of the side effects that may occur.

For Healthcare Professionals

Mild hypermagnesemia is generally well-tolerated. Moderate or severe hypermagnesemia affects the nervous and cardiovascular systems primarily.

Nervous system

Nervous system side effects have included a decrease in tendon reflexes, muscle weakness, mental confusion, sedation, mental depression, areflexia, coma and respiratory paralysis. CNS depression, often presenting as somnolence, may be more likely and more severe in patients with renal dysfunction.

Nervous system side effects from hypermagnesemia result from suppression of neuromuscular transmission in the CNS and at the neuromuscular junction (which can be antagonized by calcium). Clinically, if serum magnesium (Mg) levels increase to 4 to 7 mEq/L, there may be a decrease in tendon reflexes, muscle weakness, and/or mental confusion or sedation. At levels of 5 to 10 mEq/L, the respiratory rate slows and blood pressure falls. At levels of 10 to 15 mEq/L, there is usually profound mental depression, areflexia, coma and respiratory paralysis. Mg also has a curare-like effect at the neuromuscular junction at serum levels above 10 mEq/L. Death is not uncommon when serum Mg levels rise to 15 mEq/L.

Cardiovascular

The cardiovascular consequences of hypermagnesemia are due to peripheral vasodilation.  Hypotension may be observed when serum Mg levels rise to 5 to 10 mEq/L. Hypotension, depressed myocardial conductivity, and bradyarrhythmias may be associated with levels greater than 10 mEq/L. While some patients are inexplicably able to tolerate extraordinarily high Mg levels, there is a significant risk of asystole when levels rise to 25 mEq/L.

The risk of cardiotoxicity from hypermagnesemia is increased in the presence of, hyperkalemia, acidosis, digitalis therapy, and renal insufficiency.

Men more often survive magnesium overdose as compared to women as shown in reported clinical emergency overdose situations.

There is no such thing as a safe, synthetic pharmaceutical, ALL chronic drug use contributes to liver failure, endocrine disorders, arthritis, inflammatory, autoimmune conditions, mental deterioration, AIDS, allergic conditions, chronic malnutrition syndromes, IBD, checkpoint blockade toxicity, endotoxemia, oxidative stress, cancer, overwhelming infection syndromes and early death.

To this I would add many so called natural supplements like magnesium. Severe drug intolerance as seen in SIBO or other gut, liver, metabolic syndromes is not an issue to take lightly and consumers have to be very aware and educated about all drug and supplement use in light of their condition and not depend on doctors, the pharmacy or the marketplace to protect them.

Colostrum 2018

Effects on barrier function (leaky gut), gastrointestinal inflammation and endotoxemia

Bovine immunoglobulins and colostrum can support intestinal barrier function. When intestinal barrier function is compromised, bacterial products such as LPS, food allergens, as well as pathogens can passively cross the epithelial layer and cause inflammation and infection in the mucosa.

  • Bovine colostrum can inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines

  • Bovine IgG can also have anti-inflammatory effects by preventing translocation of bacterial components across the epithelial layer.

  • Bovine serum derived IgG could prevent the translocation of bacterial components over the epithelium, thus preventing inflammatory responses to bacterial ligands.

Bovine colostrum enhances immune function by increasing T and B cell response

Immunoglobulins consist of an antigen binding domain  and a constant region. This constant region is essential for inducing phagocytosis and clearance of pathogens, complement fixation, antigen presentation and immune regulation. These downstream effector functions of immunoglobulins are dependent on binding of the constant region to immunoglobulin Fc receptors (Fc receptors). These receptors are primarily expressed on the cell surface of immune cells.

Bovine IgG is able to bind to Fcγ receptors on human cells. Bovine IgG was shown to bind to human monocytes, neutrophils and macrophages, as well as to B cells.

It its confirmed that Bovine IgG can bind to human FcγRII. Bovine IgG is able to form immune complexes with bacterial and viral pathogens, mediate antigen presentation and phagocytosis killing in phagocytes.

Increased CD8+ T cell activation is increased upon oral intake of bovine colostrum.

In addition to immune exclusion by direct binding of bovine IgG to pathogens, FcγRII mediated pathogen clearance and killing by macrophages and neutrophils, bovine IgG plays a role in enhancing adaptive immune responses by increasing T and B cell responses.

Bovine colostrum increased NKT (Natural Killer T cells) containing LPS-specific bovine IgGs in the spleen and Peyer’s patch. It is not clear at present if these NK cells are induced by IgG or by other factors present in colostrum.

If you are not willing to change, no one can help
you.

You can’t even help yourself.

  • 100 people see the necessity to act (work).
  • Out of that 100, 30 WILL act (work), in fact if you motivate 34 to act (work) you are doing something fabulous.
  • That 30% will see increasing results in incremental and exponential fashion if they do act (work) in a positive manner.

But…

For a lot of people that is the most fearful part, recognizing that something must change about their situation. For others they just don’t think they should change, even in the face of ill health, they have the most difficult burden, as time and reality waits for no one. Others simply don’t know where to begin, others set themselves up for failure from the start. There are many oddities to human behavior and the individual is the only place to begin that journey upon their own deep reflection.

Change is a truth seeking reality journey that everyone has to face and the healing journey is no different from any other life journey.

I have met thousands upon thousands of people in the last decade. Amazingly, mind boggling astoundingly, more often than not, the first few months of our relationship, the meetings go something like this, I proceed to offer a health lifestyle change or many lifestyle changes, (I assume that is why someone bothers to want to meet me, visit my blog or read my books in the first place) and then all I mostly hear is why they can’t do that. The ones who are motivated I rarely hear from again, except to let me know how they are doing.

Many times I have wondered, ‘did you read the sign on the door’?

The consultants paradigm.

I then encountered some other consultants and they said the same thing, it didn’t matter what the person was consulting them about, the response was identical, they would offer paid for advice and the person would begin to list why they couldn’t possibly act on that advice. The only practical thing to do after months is ensure they know that I can sit here for a long time (not entirely guilt free if I don’t feel I am helping you, as that is my main purpose in spending my valuable time in these healthy lifestyle knowledge sharing encounters) but can they afford to sit here forever? At some point one of us has to effectively act. I know that being ill isn’t good for you and it isn’t good for anyone around you, that is why both of us are here in this time and this place. Maybe they never asked themselves that question, I don’t know, I only know what motivated me to face every challenge I ever faced in my life (one of them was not being able to walk anywhere or even see my direction because I was literally blind, bedridden, becoming paralyzed and I also had a lesion in such a place (my brainstem) that I could drop dead any minute, I had a destroyed liver from the MS drugs and steroids and a destroyed gut from the multiple antibiotics, I had no options, no time and couldn’t afford to waste another gamble on being wrong again and throw my last quarter on a 30% shot, it was time to get serious, that is a pretty good motivator and a hell I never care to revisit) but since motivation is a big issue to tackling any long term goal I found some videos from a clinical psychologist, professor, author and speaker, who is well regarded for his work in understanding human behavior, both on an individual level and group behavior. He has had over a billion total hits on youtube so I can only assume people are hungry for this kind of message as that is quite astounding and his message is resonating around the globe.

Another thing you should know, you know how you go back and read journals, well I had that opportunity recently, I was already at this door (natural immune therapy), over a decade ago now, actually twice, I was in the door and I didn’t do it. Do you know what I would give if I hadn’t let something turn me away from the path I was already on, some shiny ball that apparently caught my attention. How much more heartache I could have saved myself and the people around me, just by sticking with it at that time, well today, I know…. a lot.

As you would see if you follow this psychologists multiple video’s; that out of 100 people, 50% will go to the doctor and then not even pick up their prescription, only 30% will end up taking it, but nearly 100% will pick up the same prescription for their dog, (I happen to know there is not much difference in prescriptions or syndromes, the only difference is they test things on dogs before they test them on you). What is up with that, is the vet any smarter, the medicine any better or the outcome likely to be any different? Highly unlikely, but for a dog, people are more willing to take some sort of responsibility and pursue at least a direction toward the pharmacy.

It can’t be just a lack of self esteem, self esteem is one of the greatest natural motivators that ever existed. Most people get up in the morning and do something for their self preservation, no matter how they feel.

As a mediator of info, what I do always try to ensure is that someone’s compass is pointing North before I recommend them and they have a solid foundation based on natural reason and sound principles. I generally despise self help books, pop psychology, along with new age thinking, modernist and postmodernist group think, but psychology is a reality that must be re-ordered toward truth (North), like every other thought that comes in to being (how many people really need another book, leader or group to tell them what they already know they should be doing or not doing and what will really make them feel better is doing it or not doing it)….. so while I am not comfortable going off in this kind of psycho-direction (you have to have a healthy foundation before you have a body entirely capable of motivation and most in this country are just drugged out of their minds, therefore incapable but I am not the druggist or the drug seeker so not much I can do about that except point out what they are actually doing to themselves, which I do) …. and that also includes proper child behavior formation which our society doesn’t foster, but here goes…. you have to work with the realities you encounter in your own society.

You’ve heard the phrase 20% of the people do 80% of the work, actually I believe it is 30% of the people do 100% of the work and that actually gets mind boggling when you extract it out to greater and greater numbers of the population.

Why do I hate modern tangents of thoughtless randomness and chaos of the mind or pop psycho-babble?

I prefer a certain practicality, you came here because of a problem, here is the map, here is the evidence that brought the map in to being, read the map if you want but not my problem if you don’t follow the map in some form or fashion, except the other essential truth, eventually it will become someone else’s or everyone’s problem; if you think problems go away by themselves because they don’t, they either grow until they consume you or they consume everyone around you if they let it, which they usually won’t, so you’ll end up alone (excluded in some fashion).

I assume people here have an organic issue that needs to be addressed with some basic knowledge and that is usually as far as I care to take it by offering practical solutions extracted from a mountain of evidence, reaching broad consensus and brought forth by pioneers and leaders in their fields of expertise and my personal experience having found it.

Most sick people are extremely grateful to get back to their life and I have generally found that to be the case albeit getting them back to a positive state of health may take a lot of patience and discipline.

It is more reasonable to conclude organic cause/s due to:

60-90% population non breast fed (generationally exponential risk factor)

up to 50% some populations C section

percentage of chronic malnutrition syndromes (some populations affected 90%)

percentage of metabolic and/or malnutrition syndromes, obesity, diabetes etc. (some populations affected 90%)

percentage of projected increase in serious chronic disease syndromes over the last century (liver failure, kidney failure, heart failure, cancer, diabetes)  40-90%

percentage of iatrogenic caused syndromes (drug benefit vs. drug risk) 70%

On the other hand, some things are inextricably linked to psychology because:

92% of chronic disease syndromes are completely preventable and the majority are reversible with lifestyle modification if caught early enough.

Self awareness is metaphysical

Self help is for fools (you can’t actually create any reality) but self awareness is a different horse because that is something that orients you toward reality. I’m not even entirely convinced people today are capable of self awareness, let alone any outside awareness, our society too is too materialistic, too in to scientism, and self awareness is metaphysical, that is usually why they need to get thunder struck in to reality to re-orient themselves and so far two world wars and millions upon millions of dead, dying and sick suffering haven’t done it, unless of course it is a pile of dog deaths, maybe then they’d be aware of something outside themselves but our lack is a reflection of just how truly destructive the last one hundred years have been in destroying the individual and he is right in that regard, you don’t know how long it took for our western society to orient themselves toward accepting the truth, that the individual matters and the majority of the world doesn’t operate on that principle. To the majority of today’s world, you actually don’t matter and that is what has been indoctrinated in to your psyche, that the group matters more (true justice balances the scale and that takes prudent wisdom), but they can’t avoid the principle (reality), if the group suffers because of you, guess who goes first? So what I am saying is, our society is for the most part no longer capable of that kind of discernment as a whole and statistics actually bear that out (incapable of true justice) because a person shouldn’t be caring about their dog more than themselves (which is healthy) but they are. So that is the actual skewed terrain as seen from the highest ideal perspective and you can judge for yourself the amount of disorientation through one example. People know that they should care about their dogs (all well and good) but they don’t have the same regard for a high ideal, themselves or therefore their own kind (humans) in that order. That is a disaster waiting to happen, mentally and physically.

How to rise from the ashes

Take the good and leave the bad, as he says, as that is the effective way to propel yourself out of the vicious circle intent on devouring you.

First, you have to recognize the good from the bad.

Psychological motivational help is only here because it plays a large part in a person’s overall health and well being.

In the proper order of principle to healing it is organic first, psychological second and spiritual third. That is why you feed the crowd (bread), instruct the crowd (word) and then bless the crowd (priestly authority). Your whole house must be in order.

I hate to break that news to a psychology professor but that ship has sailed and Aquinas already did explain hierarchy of principle and not many are able to match the intellectual capability of Aquinas, still regarded as one  the top 50 minds of all time. I have my own archetype/s to understanding human nature and self help books, modernity, post modernism and pop psychology is not it (Freud, Skinner, Jung, and nearly the whole list of behavioral, modern philosophers or psychologists), none of them were really good people but they did recognize some truth and then they used it to produce some very bad outcomes) and they contributed greatly to our false science debate and resulting scientific, including social science chaos. A bad doctor is a bad doctor and a doctor not properly formed is no doctor in my opinion and I really don’t care if it is in the mind or in the body.

But…

My will for spending my time and yours, is our well being so if he is a crowd pleaser better to start there than nowhere, I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I can recommend one book that would behaviorally and metaphysically change your life in a very practical and easy to understand manner but I doubt many would take me up on it so… I’m pragmatic if nothing else. I had to learn my own life lessons that you can spend a lot of time trying to convince people that have no desire to be convinced. They are comfortable in their conformation and confirmation of reality, whatever that may be and 10% are intractable.

His psychological advice is far better than walking around in circles because it is common sense to realize that leads nowhere and with more life experience you realize when you are encountering another circle.

No one who is lost wants to find themselves back where they began, with no water, no food and especially, no daylight left.

Everyone can use this motivational advice in understanding human behavior every now and then, no matter what their goal or what challenges they are facing in life.

He is just another well informed person that encountered problems and decided to light a candle and take it upon himself to do something about it and then share it. Be my guest.

The Outcome Of The Poor Microbiome:

Multiple And Severe Malnutrition And Vitamin Deficiencies Not Rescued By Diet

Here Is Why

2014

Researchers found that malnourished children’s microbiota failed to follow the healthy pattern they identified in healthy children. Gordon’s work suggests the microbiota of malnourished children is immature, lagging in development behind that of their healthy peers.

Supplementing these children’s meals with widely used therapeutic foods that increase calories and nutrient density reduces deaths from malnutrition, but it does not fix their persistent microbiota immaturity.

Jeffrey I. Gordon, MD “The father of the microbiome”

2018

Amino Acid Peptides and PEM (Protein Energy Malnutrition)

Persistent Microbiota Immaturity

Amino Acid Peptides

Today amino acid peptides are isolated, purified and used in clinical trials for MS, colitis, Crohn’s, IBD, stroke damage, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury as well as tendon and joint damage, they work rapidly via NO pathway to restore blood flow to damaged and lesioned areas.

Many of these bio active peptides are created via mammal milk fermentation.

PEM leads to:

  • failure to thrive
  • growth retardation
  • diarrhea
  • diminished appetite
  • and  eye inflammation

It is beneficial to recognize the various symptoms associated with severe vitamin and mineral deficiency malnutrition syndromes caused by poor microbiome,  it is extremely important to differentiate that these problems will not solved by any diet (save one that includes either cod liver oil or undenatured whey (whole fat mammal milk), including protein diets, without first addressing the poor microbiome. The inability to create vitamins, enzymes and peptides necessary for healing will also not be addressed without fixing the poor microbiome, even while understanding amino acid peptides are being used today in many drugs to facilitate rapid healing in conditions associated with the gut/brain axis.

*Bovine colostrum is an undenatured protein whole fat mammal milk

The following video helps explain the many symptoms associated with vitamin deficiencies and why your diet may not be helping alleviate the problem but also clearly states that many deficiencies are poor microbiome caused. This is key to understanding how diet and poor microbiome are inextricably linked with not only the gut/brain axis but the gut/liver axis.

It also helps explain:

  • the major differences between synthetic and healthy microbiome and liver created natural B vitamins and proper vitamin synthesis of ‘fat soluble’ vitamins (actually not vitamins but hormone precursors) A & D.

  • how certain refined foods cause malabsorption

  • why food fortification does not work and processed foods are truly ‘junk food‘ in spite of  fortification efforts

  • why some minerals facilitate healing

*Sodium ascorbate is the only synthetic vitamin used for detox in drug rehab clinics, it is used with whole fat mammal milk and detoxes a wide variety of drugs, certain amino acid peptides are also used for drug detox of many types of drugs. Too many drugs to list are a major contributor to post birth IBD, including antibiotics, birth control, immune depressants, steroids, anti depressants and PPI’s, many of these drugs are found in water supplies.

* You can do as you please with your own money and time but I do not endorse vitamin deficiency testing which he offers at the end. Why pay for what you already know and what you likely don’t know is that almost none of it will be corrected unless you address the poor microbiome, the faulty liver, the faulty detox pathways and the immune tolerance first. I agree that people spend a lot of money trying to fix various skin problems caused by something else, and unfortunately they are usually directed toward synthetic steroids. They are now contraindicated by all major medical institutions as being harmful to the immune system and have always been contraindicated for natural immune therapy (gcmaf).

You can’t eat your way out of a poor micro biome immune deficiency syndrome

2018

Breast milk is difficult to duplicate, and the optimum composition of infant formula remains unknown. A more realistic goal is to benchmark the growth and development of formula-fed infants against that of breastfed infants.

(Nutrition Review June 2018)

Bovine milk contains many oligosaccharides that are identical to those found in human milk. Oligosaccharides recovered from whey could serve as ingredients for infant formula, as their composition is similar to that of HMOs and such an ensemble cannot currently be produced synthetically.

The “Father Of Natural Immunity” is credited with our modern understanding of immunity

Élie Metchnikoff developed a theory that aging is caused by toxic bacteria in the gut and that lactic acid could prolong life. Based on this theory, he drank sour milk every day. He attributed the longevity of Bulgarian peasants to their yogurt consumption.

In particular, he is credited with the discovery of phagocytes (macrophages) in 1882. This discovery turned out to be the major defence mechanism in innate immunity. He and Paul Ehrlich were jointly awarded the 1908 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine “in recognition of their work on immunity”. He is also credited by some sources with coining the term gerontology in 1903, for the emerging study of aging and longevity. He established the concept of cell-mediated immunity, while Ehrlich established the concept of humoral immunity. Their works are regarded as the foundation of the science of immunology. In immunology, he is given an epithet the “father of natural immunity”.

1913

Chronic malnutrition studies confirm numerous disease states are micro biome diarrheal associated but easily prevented and cured with whole fat mammal milk or cod liver oil.

1922

Large scale malnutrition studies are confirmed in humans and animals reaching the same conclusions.

1988

SIBO

SRB, z. B. Desulfovibrio desulfuricans are found in normal microflora of man. However, this high prevalence is obviously limited to the industrial and high civilization countries (Gibson et al., 1988). Much of the SRB reaches certainly over the manure fertilization in the food chain. First of all infants who are not breastfed are at an early stage with SRB (and with methane-forming bacteria) settled (Baquero et al, 1988;. Hudson, Roberts, 1993). Also SRB in water pipes of iron-containing material is a reason for economy- and social-bound distribution of SRB may be (Zehnder, 1988; Zinkevich et al., 1994) iron compounds themselves play a negative role: they not only promote the growth of SRB by so-called iron reduction (Zehnder, 1988), but also from Bacteroides or Enterobacteriaceae, whereas bifidobacteria are inhibited (Rowland et al. 1993) Surprisingly components of the human microflora were found to inhibit the growth of SRB (sulfate reducing bacteria) and their H 2 S production efficiently, B. bifidobacteria. This is all the more surprising as Desulfovibrio and Bifidobacterium are physiologically and metabolically so different that such an inhibitory effect was not expected, but rather the reverse would have been expected, inhibition of bifidobacteria by H 2 S.

SIBO was previously clinically diagnosed by determining the ratio of two vitamins and is highly associated with severe chronic malnutrition syndrome, not alleviated by diet modification, including most proteins.

2010

AIDS studies confirm role of micro biome, that AIDS can be easily defeated with a healthy immune system and that ART’s cause higher mortality, similar to most drugs due to their negative affect on the micro biome.

Studies confirm chronic malnutrition syndromes and dysbiosis are accelerated aging syndromes leading to increased mortality and early death in future generations.

Reactive microgliosis is a common indicator of various neurodegenerative syndromes including:

  • Alzheimers disease

  • Parkinsons disease

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • ALS

  • retinal degenerations

  • and other retinal conditions

Today’s children are born with chronic malnutrition syndromes and accelerating aging diseases, namely PEM.

Protein Energy Malnutrition

About 75% of the food Westerners consume does not benefit microbiota in the lower gut. Most of it, refined carbohydrates, is already absorbed in the upper part of the GI tract, and what reaches the large intestine is of limited value containing less minerals, less vitamins and other nutrients important for maintenance of the microbiota. The consequence is that the microbiota of modern man has a much reduced size and diversity as compared to earlier societies and individuals living a rural life today. It is the artificial treatment provided by modern care, among them; artificial nutrition, hygienic measures, frequent use of pharmaceuticals, all known to significantly impair the total microbiome of the body and dramatically contribute to poor outcome. Attempts to reconstitute a normal microbiome have often failed as they have always been undertaken as a complement to and not an alternative to existing treatment schemes, especially treatments with antibiotics. Modern nutrition formulas are too artificial as they are based on mixture of a variety of chemicals, which alone or together induce inflammation.

Alternavita Amazing Whey No Pain Energy Water

Alpha-lactalbumin In Acid Whey

Alpha-lactalbumin is a bioactive milk protein found in acid whey, typically containing 20-25% α-LA. This is nearly equal to that found in human breast milk.

When α-LA is broken down (hydrolyzed) by the body it releases cysteine. Cysteine is a precursor to glutathione (GSH), a vital internal antioxidant. Alpha-lactalbumin has a direct effect on the body. It increases production of serotonin and glutathione. Alpha-lactalbumin increases liver glutathione after strenuous exercise.

  • Whey protein increased lymphocyte glutathione (GSH) in humans.
  • Oral administration of substantive amounts of bovine whey protein enhances the glutathione content in the liver, heart and spleen. This change is moderate but sustained over time and biologically significant.

This property is restricted to the undenatured conformation of whey protein.

  • The administration of glutathione itself is of little consequence on tissue glutathione levels, because it  cannot be transported intact across the cell membrane. Some methods of increasing intracellular levels of glutathione concentration are either toxic or dangerous owing to the risks related to the initial phase of glutathione depletion.

  • Undenatured whey protein of bovine origin increases glutathione in various tissues.

Powdered whey bodybuilding supplements are not un-denatured. The word “denatured” is a biochemical process in which proteins lose their structure.

Only Whey Protein Or Diets That Contain This Protein Improve Antioxidant Function

Whey proteins, when compared with other dietary proteins (ie, soy, casein, or wheat), have been shown to enhance antibody production.

When L. lactis ssp. lactis is added to milk, the bacterium uses enzymes to produce energy molecules (ATP), from lactose. The byproduct of ATP energy production is lactic acid.

Acid Whey Reverses Neurodegenerative And Retina Inflammation By Activating CNS Macrophages

Whey is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained. It is a byproduct of the manufacture of cheese or casein and has several commercial uses. Sweet whey is a byproduct produced during the manufacture of rennet types of hard cheese, like Cheddar or Swiss cheese. Acid whey (also known as sour whey) is a byproduct produced during the making of acid types of dairy products, such as cottage cheese or strained yogurt. Liquid whey is the yellowish, green liquid you often see floating on top of unstirred yogurt, sour cream or cottage cheese. All mammal milk products contain whey.

Microglial cells are the resident macrophages of the central nervous system (CNS)

Microglial cells are the resident macrophages of the central nervous system (CNS), including the retina, and play a pivotal role in innate immune responses and regulation of homeostasis in the healthy and degenerating CNS.

Despite being cells of the mononuclear phagocyte lineage, their CNS-specific location and morphology clearly distinguishes them from other macrophage populations.

Microglial cells, the resident phagocyte population of the nervous system, exert several important functions in immune surveillance and neuronal homeostasis. In the healthy brain and the retina, ramified microglia serve as highly motile patrolling cells constantly surveying their microenvironment.

Reactive microgliosis is a common indicator of various neurodegenerative syndromes including:

  • Alzheimers disease

  • Parkinsons disease

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • ALS

  • retinal degenerations

  • and other retinal conditions

Whey acidic protein family is characterized by a highly conserved whey acidic protein domain.
Filopodia formation is a hallmark of homeostatic microglial cells that constantly survey their microenvironment with their branched protrusions.

Activated microglia/macrophage whey acidic protein promotes the formation of branched filopodia.

High phagocytic clearance of apoptotic debris by microglia is also regarded as an important anti-inflammatory feature.

Activated microglia/macrophage whey acidic protein inhibits:

  • pro-inflammatory gene expression

  • reduces microglial neurotoxicity

  • promotes filopodia formation

  • and increases phagocytic uptake of apoptotic debris

Activated microglia/macrophage whey acidic protein triggers a neuro-protective phenotype in microglia and that whey acidic proteins may be potential therapeutics to inhibit a detrimental microglial phenotype in neurodegenerative diseases of the brain and retina.

Intracellular Whey Benefits For Severe Protein Energy Malnutrition (PEM) Syndromes©

Protein-energy malnutrition is associated with a significant impairment of cell-mediated immunity, phagocyte function, complement system, secretory immunoglobulin A antibody concentrations, and cytokine production. Deficiency of single nutrients also results in altered immune response: this is observed even when the deficiency state is relatively mild.  Overnutrition and obesity also reduce immunity. Low-birth-weight infants have a prolonged impairment of cell-mediated immunity.

PEM has considerable public health significance. PEM specific studies began well over a century ago and research dollars are still accumulatingtoday for PEM specific associated conditions like AIDS, despite being easily prevented and curative as was well demonstrated by these well defined early studies in animals and humans.

Up to 80% of patients with IBD have PEM and other associated inflammatory conditions like “Systemic inflammation response system” (SIRS) and also a higher rate of hospital acquired infections including sepsis which also leads to increased morbidity.

Immunity or susceptibility to infectious-parasitic diseases is directly linked with the nutritional status of the host.

The outcome of SIRS seems much more to be related to the life-style of the individual and her/his “maintenance” of the microbiota e.g., size and diversity of microbiota, normal microbiota.

Studies of protein energy malnutrition (PEM) have been undertaken for over a century and have led to various worldwide vitamin fortification programs with poor results.

Calcium

Calcium influences energy metabolism because intracellular calcium regulates adipocyte lipid metabolism andtriglyceride storage. The greater effect of dairy versus nondairy sources of calcium for improving body composition resides in the whey fraction of milk. The bioactive components in whey are thought to act synergistically with calcium to attenuate lipogenesis, accelerate lipolysis, and effect nutrient subdivision between adipose tissue and skeletal muscle. The mechanism responsible for increased fat loss found with dairy-based calcium versus nondairy calcium has not yet been fully elucidated.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is not a vitamin but a hormone precursor.

Vitamin 1,25-D3 inhibits proliferation of T helper 1(Th1) cells consequently impairing production of IL-2, tumor necrosis factor ± and interferon (IFN)], as well as T helper 17 (Th17) cells, skewing cytokine production toward a T helper 2 (Th2) phenotype.

Vitamin D-induced down regulation of the cytokine response may not always be associated with optimal host defense. The Th1 cytokine profile is vital for clearance of certain organisms and ancillary immune activity and a limiting effect on this cytokine profile may result in reduced chances for overcoming infections and intracellular organisms residing within macrophages. Effective clearance will depend on appropriate macrophage activation, which occurs through IFN≥ release by Th1 and NK cells and production of nitric oxide.

The presence of 1,25-D3 disrupts this pathway, as IFN≥ secretion is blocked, impairing macrophage activation.

Persistent blockade of these inhibitory receptors (also known as check point blockade toxicity) has led to the breakdown in immune self tolerance, thereby increasing susceptibility to autoimmune or auto-inflammatory side effects including:

  • rash
  • colitis
  • hepatitis
  • various endocrinopathies

High dose vitamin D supplementation does not affect biochemical bone markers

High dose vitamin D supplementation does not affect biochemical bone markers in multiple sclerosis, another autoimmune condition associated with severe malnutrition.

Tolerance is the ability of the immune system to ‘see’

Immune tolerance, or immunological tolerance, or immunotolerance, is a state of unresponsiveness of the immune system to substances or tissue that have the capacity to elicit an immune response in a given organism.

Without galactose (a simple milk sugar disaccharide, glucose and lactose) the immune system can not ‘see’.

Resistant states described for other steroid hormones and vitamin D in humans does not appear to be related to a mutation in the vitamin D receptor (VDR) protein.Vitamin D resistance phenomenon correlates with high circulating levels of other steroid hormones including glucocorticoid, mineral corticoid, progesterone, testosterone, 17β-estradiol , 1,25-(OH)2D.

All steroids are contra indicated in oral immune therapy.

The addition of B vitamins and vitamin C did not prevent the appearance of rickets.

Amazing Whey

Glutathione

Whey has potent antioxidant activity, contributing cysteine-rich proteins that aid in the synthesis of glutathione (GSH), a potent intracellular antioxidant. As an antioxidant, glutathione is most effective in its reduced form. Riboflavin, niacinamide, and glutathione reductase are essential cofactors in the reduction of glutathione.

Glutathione peroxidase (GSHPx) is another detoxifying agent which is derived from selenium and cysteine and is an endogenous antioxidant enzyme with the ability to convert lipid peroxides into less harmful acids. The peroxidases interact with hydrogen peroxide to reduce it to water, negating its oxidative potential. Whey protein as a source of cysteine increases intracellular glutathione levels. GSHPx activity in cow’s milk and whey is the same as in human milk.

As a cysteine donor, whey has been shown to raise intracellular GSH levels. Enhanced biosynthesis of intracellular glutathione, shown by an increase of lymphocyte GSH levels is the mechanism responsible for  improved energy metabolism and muscular performance in athletes.

Un-denatured whey protein of bovine origin increases glutathione in various tissues. Oral administration of substantive amounts of bovine whey protein enhances the glutathione content in the liver, heart and spleen. This change is moderate but sustained over time and biologically significant. This property is restricted to the un-denatured conformation of whey protein.

Only whey protein or diets that contain this protein improve antioxidant function.

All milk contains whey.

A landmark investigation in 1922, working with malnourished children post-World War I, showed that rickets prevalent in children could be cured by whole milk or cod-liver oil. Cod liver oil was the actual substance used in early milk fortification programs followed by irradiation techniques. Noted seasonal changes were correlated with reduced sunlight in similar malnutrition studies.

Studies of protein energy malnutrition (PEM) led to vitamin fortification. Well defined chemistry studies before 1922 which included propositions for the effective components:

  • amino acids
  • fats
  • and lactalbumin

in milk products, cod liver oil and their roles in severe protein malnutrition were undertaken with various milk products.

Whole fat mammal milk products (butter) and cod liver oil easily alleviated PEM in both animals and humans with sustained results that were multi seasonal in longer term studies.

The studies were also comparative against other plant and animal proteins as well as other starches. Comparative  studies were also undertaken regarding specific fats shown in milk products and cod liver oil vs. other other types of animal fats.

In these earliest studies, PEM led to:

  • failure to thrive
  • growth retardation
  • diarrhea
  • diminished appetite
  • and  eye inflammation

which soon developed in to purulent state within a matter of weeks. Arthritic conditions and rickets were also noted in test subjects.

The addition of B vitamins and vitamin C did not prevent the appearance of rickets.

In similar studies the addition of B vitamins and vitamin C did not prevent the appearance of rickets in 3-4 months in animals helping eliminate other known vitamin deficiencies as a cause of rickets. Rickets was cured and prevented in these studies as well by the addition of butterfat and cod-liver oil, repeatedly confirming earlier studies.

This early research led to the discovery of Vitamin A.

Today, the active components are proposed to be oleic acid and GAG (Glycos-Amino-Glycan) Type II (chondroitin sulfate, termed prebiotic). Oleic acid (transport molecule) is the most abundant fat in both humans and cows and both substances are readily available in all types of whole fat mammal milk.

Chondroitin sulfate has been shown to restore immune tolerance in RA and is a a well known anti arthritic supplement. Gc protein is also known as  Vitamin D Binding Protein and GC globulin (albumin super family). All are found in mammal milk products. Gc protein requires stepwise enzymatic conversion to activate macrophages and has been described as the greatest macrophage activating factor ever discovered. Some of the first studies of the effects of Gc protein involved bone metabolism, other bone defects and later, cancer along with many other conditions.

Milk product studies involving pneumonia (lactalbumin) led to the discovery of HAMLET and BAMLET which revolutionized cancer studies.

Today, these few specific components as found in milk products and whey originally written about in early papers and confirmed repeatedly in the early part of the last century are being proposed as ideal candidates for modification of infant formula (known to cause necrotizing enterocolitis).

α-Lactalbumin is a whey protein that constitutes approximately 22% of the proteins in human milk and approximately 3.5% of those in bovine milk. Within the mammary gland, α-lactalbumin plays a central role in milk production as part of the lactose synthase complex required for lactose formation, which drives milk volume. It is an important source of bioactive peptides and essential amino acids, including tryptophan, lysine, branched-chain amino acids, and sulfur-containing amino acids, all of which are crucial for infant nutrition. α-Lactalbumin contributes to infant development, and the commercial availability of α-lactalbumin allows infant formulas to be reformulated to have a reduced protein content.

Nutrition Reviews June 2018

Actually it is not a reduced protein content it is a different whey protein content reduced from mammal milk (α-Lactalbumin).

Around and around we go.

Today, WHO proposes the addition of Vitamin A and zinc for infectious diarrhea associated with severe malnutrition syndrome, PEM.
